For Teachers

Sea Educator programs offer a chance for teachers to learn first-hand about our unique program offerings during a free three-hour, informal sail.  Onboard, teachers can experiment with the use of our oceanographic sampling equipment, receive a tour of the 61'  research vessel, Carlyn, discuss inquiry-based science education with the staff, help as part of the sailing crew, and talk with other teachers who have an interest in getting their students out in the field.Staff Furling or Teacher Sail These educational opportunities geared for the classroom educator are a valuable asset to facilitating Sound & Source projects.  The 3 or 4 credit hour trainings will focus on building both knowledge and skills in facilitating inquiry based learning in a field research setting, and the opportunities for integrating Salish's program into classroom curricula.
