For Schools and other Groups - Boat-based Program

These flexible inquiry-based expeditions provide opportunities for groups to explore Puget SoundSVS 04 Sea Star using marine science and nautical training.  Sound programs include pre-trip classroom visits by our staff to facilitate students' decision making and planning, as well as a synthesis visit after the expedition. Groups participating in our Sound programs have included 5th-12th grade school classes, boy and girl scout troops, science and sailing clubs, and home school student organizations.

Each Sound program is co-created with program participants to ensure programs fit theNCESD 05 at the Helm individual needs of each group.  These programs are therefore easily incorporated into the ongoing curriculum, providing teachers with a tool they can implement to enhance their students' classroom learning.

Sound programs occur throughout Puget Sound and the San Juan Islands, are from 3-5 days in length, and are available March through June (Spring season) and September through October (Fall season).

To make a reservation request for either our boat-based Sound program or our Sound & Source program extension, please visit our Reservation Request page.
