Salish programs improve attitudes about science and learning, impart an understanding of the marine environment, and strengthen the ability to handle unfamiliar and potentially challenging circumstances.

...diversify our student base to include more low income students,

Each year students, especially those at low income schools, have difficulty raising the necessary funds to participate. Salish has proudly committed to offering scholarships to many of these low income students!

...and offer science education workshops for up to 150 teachers.

These workshops introduce inquiry-based methods of teaching, provide a hands-on trial of our scientific research equipment, and explain Salish programs. They also offer the continuing education credits needed to keep teaching certifications current.
